Turnpike to allow hybrid cars in car pool lanes

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) _ Drivers in the New Jersey Turnpike car pool lanes who see someone driving alone, should think twice before calling the police to report a violator. That car may simply be one of the new, fuel-efficient hybrid vehicles.

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority, which administers the turnpike and the Garden State Parkway, voted Thursday to allow hybrid vehicles to use the high occupancy vehicles lanes on the turnpike.story continued
